Disneyland Haunted Mansion Olszewski Stretching Portrait Box

If I still lived near Disneyland, I would have one of these babies on my desk right now. First in a series of four, when closed, this box shows a proper young lady daintily holding a parasol. Upon opening the box, it is revealed she is precariously perched over a hungry alligator (or is it a crocodile..?). I had always wondered why she put herself in that position...

Pirates of the Caribbean Sugar Bowl/Vintage Head

Yay! The eBay To Go widget is back! Now I can post to my heart's content...

...And I'll start with this, a vintage pirate's head! Judging by the shape of the lid, I would guess this could be used as a sugar bowl. And seriously, who wouldn't want to scoop sugar out of a rascally pirate's head? NO ONE. NO ONE WOULDN'T is the answer.

Disneyland Haunted House/Haunted Mansion Bank

I've seen this a couple of times, but this is the first one I've seen that works. It's advertised as a 1960s Disneyland "Haunted House" bank, so I assume they mean it's the Haunted Mansion. What I'm not so clear on is if it was sold at the park as a Haunted Mansion attraction souvenir, or if it was a "Disneyland" toy sold in regular stores. Since it doesn't really look like the Haunted Mansion (where are the columns?) I'm guessing it was the latter.

Still very cool, though.

Disneyland Club 33 Harpsichord Ornament 2007

I love that Disneyland has a "secret" club; there are so many things about Disneyland that are wonderful and mysterious. I had the good fortune to go to Club 33 several years ago, and it was fabulous... though I would say a lot of its fabulousness stemmed from the fact it's so very exclusive.

This ornament was only made available to the diners at Club 33; it is a representation of the harpsichord that Lillian Disney picked out herself for a centerpiece of the club. With all the Club 33 napkins, pens, and pins on eBay, it's nice to see a more interesting souvenir.

Haunted Mansion Bat Stanchion Queue Pole

Hauntedmansionstanchionbat This is a reproduction of one of the bat queue pole thingies in the Haunted Mansion. Did you know they were called "stanchions"? I didn't. I thought they were called "queue pole thingies." Huh. The more you know.

These are the kinds of items I really like -  stuff you'd have to explain to puzzled guests when they ask why, exactly, you have a brass bat sitting on your shelf. You can tell them, "Oh, it's a bat queue pole thingie from the Haunted Mansion. Did you know they're called 'stanchions'?"

Disneyland Haunted Mansion Secret Panel Chest

I see these come up every now and then. They seem to be highly collectible. It's a Haunted Mansion secret panel chest, and is basically a puzzle box. It has a secret drawer you can hide stuff in, and you have to move panels around in the right order to get it to open. One of the better attraction souvenirs.

About

  • "Disneyland Finds" is a blog devoted to finding you interesting Disneyland collectibles and memorabilia. I can't buy this stuff... No room! But you can. More...

Why...?

  • "Why doesn't your description match the item shown?" or "Why is there no item?" The eBay widget only lasts for 90 days, then defaults to a similar item. After the original listing expires, it may show something that's sort of like what I originally posted, or it may not show anything at all. To be safe, please read the seller's description before bidding!
