Disneyland Painted Firework Shell

I love things like this. This is a used shell from a 1970s Disneyland fireworks show. Usually these things were tossed, but some creative person snapped one up, painted it, and saved it as a souvenir. You know, if Disneyland were smart, they'd collect these things every night, slap a couple of mouse ears on them, and sell them for $50 a pop.

I'd be first in line.

Disneyland in Cinemascope 16mm Film

If I were a film buff and had a way to show this, I would jump. But I'm not and I don't. I don't even fully understand what this is, but perhaps you do. This is 16mm footage of Disneyland shot in Cinerama anamorphic format by Bausch and Lomb.  It's a visual tour through early '60s Disneyland, complete with the Flying Saucers, Jungle Cruise, and the Matterhorn. No sound, but it seems awesome nonetheless.

Marx Disneyland Express Toy Tin Train

This is ultra-cool... This is the Marx Disneyland Express train, or, if you prefer, The Mickey Mouse Express, or the Walt Disney Train Set, or the Donald Duck R.R. (Whew!). Unfortunately, there is no box with this item, but it is in great condition.

Disneyland Haunted Mansion Olszewski Stretching Portrait Box

If I still lived near Disneyland, I would have one of these babies on my desk right now. First in a series of four, when closed, this box shows a proper young lady daintily holding a parasol. Upon opening the box, it is revealed she is precariously perched over a hungry alligator (or is it a crocodile..?). I had always wondered why she put herself in that position...

Disneyland is Ducky Flasher Pin/Button

I'd seen the Mickey Mouse flasher buttons, but didn't realize it came from a set. Here's the Donald Duck version, the Disneyland is Ducky flasher button.

Enchanted TIki Room Fabric United Airlines

You know this sucker's old because according to the fabric design, United Airlines was the sponsor of the Enchanted Tiki Room - not Dole, as it has been for most of its existence.

What could you make with this Tiki Room fabric? Oh, I don't know... A hat? A brooch? A pterodactyl? The possibilities are endless, I tell you.

Pirates of the Caribbean Sugar Bowl/Vintage Head

Yay! The eBay To Go widget is back! Now I can post to my heart's content...

...And I'll start with this, a vintage pirate's head! Judging by the shape of the lid, I would guess this could be used as a sugar bowl. And seriously, who wouldn't want to scoop sugar out of a rascally pirate's head? NO ONE. NO ONE WOULDN'T is the answer.

Disneyland "Good Luck" Horseshoe

Disneylandhorseshoe Even though the description doesn't specifically say "Frontierland," I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption it came from there. I'm guessing this didn't actually come off a horse, however, as the "Good Luck from Disneyland" script might have been a tad uncomfortable for the horse.

Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle Crown Jewel

Img_3196ss3 More wonderful things as they're being removed from the Disneyland 50th birthday celebration! This is a decoration used on Sleeping Beauty Castle; a section of one of the "crown" decorations perched high on the spires above Disneyland. The photos don't really have a sense of scale, but this sucker is over four feet high and weighs over 200 pounds. True, there are a few gems missing, but that's fair for something like this.

Pick up in Florida is preferred, but you could have it shipped to you for approximately $350.

About

  • "Disneyland Finds" is a blog devoted to finding you interesting Disneyland collectibles and memorabilia. I can't buy this stuff... No room! But you can. More...

Why...?

  • "Why doesn't your description match the item shown?" or "Why is there no item?" The eBay widget only lasts for 90 days, then defaults to a similar item. After the original listing expires, it may show something that's sort of like what I originally posted, or it may not show anything at all. To be safe, please read the seller's description before bidding!
